Spurs and Man United linked with Jarrad Branthwaite

Unsurprisingly, Branthwaite is thought to have emerged as a target for some of the Premier League’s heavy hitters this summer on the back of his impressive showing last season.

It has been widely reported over the last month or so that Everton are bracing themselves for offers for the 21-year-old, with both Spurs and Man Utd circling over the youngster (Daily Mail).

Tottenham already have Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero as Ange Postecoglou’s two starting central defenders ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Man United to bid £45m for Jarrad Branthwaite

Sky Sports have now said that Man Utd are ready to make their opening bid for Branthwaite, with the bid likely to be in the region of around £45m.

However, the report says that this opening offer is expected to be turned down by the Toffees, who are keen on holding onto the centre-back.

It is explained that the Merseyside club have not put a valuation on Brathwaite as they consider him a key member of Sean Dyche’s squad.

We know that Everton would have to sell some players to ensure they do not fall foul of PSR regulations.

However, it sounds like the Toffees might be planning to cash in on others such as Amadou Onana and keeping hold of Brathwaite as the centre-back’s market value is only going to increase over the next 12 months.
