TikTok food critic Keith Lee gives high rating to Baton Rouge barbecue restaurant
The Keith Lee effect is set to continue after the popular TikTok food critic gave a local barbecue restaurant a high rating.
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Keith Lee effect is set to continue after the popular TikTok food critic gave a local barbecue restaurant a high rating.
Lee, who is in Baton Rouge as part of his national food tour, said he was recommended by several people to go to Smoke Bayou.
"This is a mom-and-pop spot, but it's been recommended, like it's a community staple. I would have thought this place had six, seven locations, but we pulled up and when I say mom-and-pop, it's a small intimate shack," said Lee in his video.
He said he spent around $41 and ordered mac and cheese, smoked cabbage and a plate that consisted of chicken, sausage, ribs and brisket.
Lee tasted the ribs first and gave it a 7.9/10. He said the ribs were "real sweet" and "real smokey." Next, he would taste the chicken and gave it a 8/10. He said it was "the juiciest chicken I've ever had in my life."
Lee would go on to try the brisket, where he gave it a 9.2/10. He would also give the sausage a 9.5/10, the mac and cheese a 2/10, and the smoked cabbage a 2/10.
Smoke Bayou is located at 4355 Inniswold Road in Baton Rouge.
