One more day to catch the Columbus Air Show

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Hundreds of people made their way to Rickenbacker International Airport Saturday for day two of the Columbus Air Show.

After the United Air Force Thunderbirds wowed the crowd with their finale performance, attendees hung out and checked out what else the event has to offer.

Throughout the day, attendees walked around visiting vendors and checking out aircraft. But during the Thunderbirds’ performance, all eyes were glued to the skies. Children lined the fence hoping to get an autograph from the Thunderbird pilots.

Whether you’re a child or an adult, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the show.

“I think it’s even better because it gives us a future to look forward to,” Felix Huertas, a Vietnam veteran, said. “They’re up there wearing their uniforms putting their life and limb at risk for us.”

“It’s just awesome seeing how big the planes are and going in them and seeing the cockpit,” show attendee Valentina Vergamini said. “I mean, how often do you get to do that?”

Sunday is the last day of this year’s show, with gates opening at 9 a.m. For more information, click here.
