Sanju Samson INSTEAD of Shivam Dube in Playing XI? Sreesanth Suggests Ahead of India vs Afghanistan T20 WC 2024 Super 8 Game

Barbados: India allrounder Shivam Dube has not really fired in his two outings in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. With the team having made the Super 8, will they look to tinker with the playing XI? Will Team India opt for changes in the winning combination? Former India cricketer Sreesanth suggested that India look to slot in Sanju Samson in place of Dube. Will his suggestion be contemplated?

“Sanju Samson can be in the middle order instead of Dube. If Dube is not rotating his arms or if he’s not bowling, I think that will be a brilliant option because he always adapts to the situations and he can change his gear,” Sreesanth told Firstpost.

Meanwhile, India’s final group game in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 against Canada might have been abandoned due to wet outfield.

The weather in Florida has been severe in the past week. Starting from flash floods to torrential rains, a washout was on cards for the India vs Canada game. In fact, USA’s game against Ireland was also abandoned due to rain the previous day. The Pakistan vs Ireland game is also at the same venue.

In the Super 8 stage, India have been placed alongside Australia, Afghanistan and either Bangladesh or Netherlands in Group 1. The Men in Blue start their Super 8 campaign against Afghanistan on June 20. Then they play (Bangladesh or Netherlands) on June 22 before the clash against Australia on June 24.

India are yet to lose a game in the ongoing T20 WC 2024. Rohit and his men would like to keep it that way.
