Nicole Kidman Reveals What Drew Her to 'A Family Affair,' Talks Bonding With Zac Efron & Joey King

Nicole Kidman revealed what drew her to accept a role in her new rom-com A Family Affair.

The 56-year-old actress shares the screen in the new Netflix project with Zac Efron and Joey King.

While attending the movie’s Los Angeles premiere this week, she opened up about the project and the bond that she shares with her costars.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she explained that she was drawn to the idea of doing something light and fun quite a few dramas.

“I went, yeah, I would love to be able to go and do that and jump in. I had done Expats, which took so much out of my soul, and so I was like, OK, I’m not producing this, I’m a hired actor and I’m happy to show up and be a part of the team and have fun,” she said.

Nicole added that part of the draw was the chance to bond with the team, adding that Joey was “really fun.”

“There was a lot of sitting around and talking and a lot of easy camaraderie, which is a nice way to make a film,” she gushed. “There wasn’t so much stress, which is kind of nice, I have to say, because so many of them are very stressful.”
