Taking to social media, the woman shared her unusual name considering she lives in the US.

While it may be popular in Greece, the name isn’t so common in America where she grew up leading many children to take the mick out of her.

She revealed her name was Aphrodite, after the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation.

But it didn’t go down well for her while she was growing up.

Posing in front of the camera wearing an LA cap, denim shorts and white vest she revealed what growing up with a unique baby name was really like.

She said: “Me when my parents decided to name me Aphrodite and then send me to public school as a below average looking kid.”

Aphrodite claimed the whole ordeal was a ‘character building exercise.’

Despite being bullied at school, it seemed that now many people agreed the name was perfect for the young brunette beauty.

The clip was shared to her TikTok account @aphvlogs where it soon went viral with over 3 million views and 600k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: “I got cast as Aphrodite in a middle school play and people kept asking me how.”

Another commented: “Awww you’re not below average looking! You’re gorgeous!”

“When I was a kid I had some awkward phases,” Aphrodite replied.

“But you’re actually gorgeous so they got the name right,” penned a third.

Banned Names in the UK

The UK has no law restricting names, but names that contain obscenities, numerals, misleading titles, or are impossible to pronounce are likely to be rejected when registering a child.

  • Hitler
  • Monkey
  • Cyanide
  • Martian
  • Akuma
  • Chow Tow
  • Rogue

Meanwhile a fourth said: “I don’t know what you looked like as a kid, but you definitely live up to the name now.”

“I’m with you, pretty NOW but there were some rough phases as a kid,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “I think you pull it off to be fair.”
