India to hold trials in Spain for P-75 India submarine project by June-end

The Indian Navy is set to conduct trials in Spain for critical equipment under Project 75 India, aiming to acquire six advanced submarines with Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) systems. Spanish shipyard Navantia's Chairman, Ricardo Dominguez Garcia-Baquero, highlighted Spain's commitment to the project, including swift export clearance and technological transfer. Navantia, partnered with L&T, offers the S80 submarine design, meeting most P75(I) requirements without redesign. The trials will showcase Navantia's AIP technology, essential for India's strategic self-reliance in submarine capabilities.
