Cool temps, spotty showers linger into Monday -- but big changes on the way

A spotty rain shower or two could show up in the morning or early afternoon hours Monday before we start to dry out across Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We're keeping with the cool conditions and spotty showers through Monday up and down the Willamette Valley. A spotty rain shower or two could show up in the morning or early afternoon Monday before we start to dry out across Portland.

Monday's rain total is not expected to exceed a tenth-of-an-inch at PDX.

As for our daytime highs Monday, the metro area will look to reach the upper-60s once again.

But by mid-week, the summer heat arrives and continues through Saturday!

As the dry conditions roll on through the workweek, we also see plenty of sunshine and very toasty afternoons around Portland metro by Wednesday.

The hot temps return just in time to officially kick off summer on Thursday.

Portland's forecast for Friday afternoon calls for temps to rise as high as 90 degrees.

This is going to be such a big swing in afternoon temperatures after we saw a weekend in the mid- to upper-60s.

As we gear up for the summer vibes, enjoy a mild Monday with plenty of clouds and cooler temps throughout the valley and along the coast.

Keep it locked on KOIN 6 for the latest on your forecast.
