Family of armadillos takes mud bath to beat the heat at Inks Lake State Park
INKS LAKE, Texas (KXAN) — A family of armadillos was caught on camera taking a mud bath while trying to beat the heat.
Inks Lake State Park posted the video to their Facebook page on Friday, saying, "Mud isn't just for exfoliation!"
The park said the sighting of four siblings all at once is somewhat rare. Nine-banded armadillos are native to Texas. They're the only mammal to always give birth to identical quadruplets.
The armadillo is the state's official small mammal.
