Brooke Shields Makes a Statement in Yellow Crocs on Tony Awards 2024 Red Carpet
Shields recently underwent foot surgery.
Brooke Shields was a ray of sunshine at the 77th annual Tony Awards, arriving at Lincoln Center in New York City on June 16 in a yellow gown paired with matching Crocs.
The “Mother of the Bride” star made a bright appearance at the awards show honoring achievement in the world of Broadway. Shields, herself a Broadway alum, elected to wear a multi-textured A-line dress with a sequined top and a floor-length skirt. The top featured a deep V-neck while a bow adorned the cinched waist.
While her dress was long, Shields didn’t let her footwear go unnoticed — she lifted her skirt while posing for photos to reveal her sunny yellow Crocs. “The Blue Lagoon” actress explained that she underwent surgery just three days prior before the Tonys, which led to her unique choice of shoes for the red carpet.
Shields shared a photo of her feet in casts on social media, writing “The feet pics are about to level up…Double foot toe surgery.”
Shields opted for the classic iteration of the rubber clogs, which shared the same yellow hue as her dress. She wore her Crocs in comfort mode, meaning the singular strap was pushed to the front of the shoe as opposed to wrapping around the ankle (also known as sport mode).
Though circumstances wouldn’t allow for it at the 2024 Tonys, the longtime actress does love to step out in a fashionable heel. Throughout her career in the spotlight, she’s been spotted in pumps, embellished flats, sneakers and cowboy boots. She just recently wore sparkling wedge sandals while at the Broadway show “Cabaret.” In April, Shields paired pink ballet flats with a glittering silver dress; not to be restricted to wearing a single pair of shoes in one hand, she was carrying metallic silver pumps in hand.
