Secret Love Island feud ‘revealed’ as star labels villa rival ‘my biggest competition’
LOVE Island fans Joey Essex has entered a new feud after he revealed his biggest rival in the villa.
The pair have yet to have words but viewers think they’ve spotted one moment that unmasked the Towie legend’s true feelings.
Joey, 33, said Ayo Odukoya, who is a footballer and former model “is my biggest competition” in a surprise remark last night.
It comes after the reality TV legend admitted that he wanted to explore more with Uma earlier in the series, but the opportunity passed him by.
Writing on Reddit, one viewer said: “Anyway, in the balloon popping challenge, Joey was asked to select the islander he thought was his biggest competition and he chose Ayo. Which could mean nothing…”
Another agreed with the post, and said: “I think it relates to Grace tbh.
“Notice how she said Joey wasn’t her usual type and told Omar he was….”
A third echoed: “Joey choosing ayo as his biggest competition is telling of the possibility that he wanted to get to know uma yet she gunned for Ayo.
“People are not gonna agree with this but there’s no other way around it..”
A fourth chimed: “Apparently Grace’s type is black and Joey said Ayo was his biggest competition in unseen bits.”
Ayo was getting to know Uma when she entered the villa as a bombshell.
But many fans are now rooting for Uma to pursue Joey, remembering that she also took him on a date when she first arrived in the villa.
After watching Saturday night’s Unseen Bits, some fans encouraged the pair to get together.
The chemistry between Uma and Joey was evident as they chatted outside by the pool, with one fan commenting on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Looking at this unseen bits I think Uma should make her move on Joey because she seems to like him or am I wrong?”
But Joey was whisked away to a second villa after his ex Grace Jackson and thinks are set to get very steamy in the Hideaway tonight.
