I’m a dog walker and can’t stand a breed that always seems to hate men – they end up shaking and peeing everywhere

Commenting under a Reddit post, the unnamed user shared their least favorite dog breeds.

While they cited huskies and German shepherds as some of the worst, it was a smaller kind that took the podium position.

“Chihuahuas are always awful and somehow always ‘hate men’ for some reason,” they explained.

While this nervousness may result in the breed snapping at men, it makes them a less-than-ideal pet for women too.

The dog walker explained that the inexplicable hatred for men can make Chihuahuas difficult to own.

“They are so scared and end up shaking and peeing everywhere,” they said.

The canine expert also pointed out a common behavioral issue with the breed.

“Their owners never train them so they’re all terribly behaved,” they said.

The dog walker wasn’t overly sold on the breed even when it had been trained.

“If they are trained properly and don’t hate all men for some reason they are OK,” they explained.

“The best I have found with Chihuahuas, especially in groups, is to leave them completely alone in a dog-proof room.

“Watching them on camera they’re always wandering around and acting fine but as soon as you walk in they’ll all run to a corner and shiver.”

They added that Chihuahuas are also the breed most prone to biting in their experience.

The experts at Dogs Naturally explained the psychology behind the small breed.

“It’s normal for Chihuahuas to shake, especially when they’re feeling anxious or cold,” the professionals said.

Signs your dog could turn dangerous

Expert advice from Dr. Sara Ochoa, who has been practicing veterinary medicine for over five years.

Ochoa told The U.S. Sun observing a dog’s behavior can provide clues that they might act out.

“A dog that looks tense all over with its fur sticking up or teeth showing is more likely to snap,” she said.

“Staring real hard without blinking could mean trouble too.

“Growling is also a warning the dog is getting mad.”

She said dogs may tuck their tail between their legs when they feel scared or threatened.

“Staying calm and keeping space may help things not to escalate if a dog seems on edge,” she said.

“As a toy breed, Chihuahuas have a higher metabolism and less body fat, making them more prone to feeling chilly.

“They also have a sensitive nervous system, which means they’re more reactive to stress and anxiety.”

Reddit users shared their thoughts on Chihuahuas in the comments section.

“I love chihuahuas so much but this is so true. I love them for the spunky little s**ts they are, and we share a hatred of men but objectively the breed is kind of terrible!” wrote one person.

The reader added that the breed “tends to have lots of very specific issues.”

“I’ve met some who only go downstairs—not up, HATE people wearing hats, say a big no-thank-you to all men, steal and hide socks, they’re little freaks!”
