Food distribution program returns to Lansingburgh
LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After a months-long lapse, the food distributions at the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club are back. More than 250 families received boxes of food on Monday.
The program became popular during the pandemic to help those in the Capital Region struggling to afford groceries and other essentials. Organizers said the need is greater now more than ever.
"A lot of people assume that because the pandemic is over that the need has waned," Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York CEO Tom Nardacci said. "The food bank and local pantries have seen more and more of a need."
The regional food bank is looking for donations and volunteers.
