Hezbolllah says it has surveillance footage of key Israeli ports
The Lebanese military and political group Hezbollah on Tuesday released what it said was aerial surveillance footage of sensitive Israeli military sites.
The footage appears to have been taken in Israel's northern port city of Haifa, and includes video of a military site operated by Rafael, an Israeli defense technology company.
Hezbollah claimed in a statement on a pro-Iranian Telegram channel that shared the video that it had footage of Israel's Iron Dome and David's Sling, both air defense systems, along with storage sites for missiles, radars and other systems.
The Iranian-backed group also claimed it had video of a military base in Haifa, along with a power plant, airport, and local neighborhoods in the surrounding area.
The claims from Hezbollah could not be verified. The Israel Defense Forces has yet to comment on the alleged footage.
Hezbollah and Israel have been locked in a deadly conflict since Oct. 8, a day after the Palestinian militant group Hamas invaded southern Israel and sparked a major war. Hezbollah claims it is fighting against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The fighting, which has displaced tens of thousands of Israeli citizens who had lived near Lebanon, has worsened in recent weeks as Hezbollah and Israel exchange fire over the border.
Amos Hochstein, one of President Biden's senior advisers, is in Israel this week to try and resolve the tensions diplomatically.
