Over 4,000 National Grid customers without power in Kenmore

No cause for the outages was specified.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Over 4,000 National Grid customers in Kenmore are without power as of 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to National Grid's website.

The estimated restoration time for most of the outages is listed as 9:30 p.m. Earlier Tuesday evening, over 12,000 customers in both Kenmore and Tonawanda were without power.

A National Grid official told WIVB News 4 that the outage was due to a piece of equipment on an electrical pole that broke and is not related to the heat.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
