Gov. Hochul announces free admission to NYS parks this week
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Governor Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that all New York State Parks will have free admission this Wednesday and Thursday in an effort to protect New Yorkers against expected record temperatures.
"Extreme heat can be dangerous for New Yorkers," said Hochul. "And I'm doing everything I can to help families stay safe and cool this week."
In addition, Hochul announced that Woodlawn Beach State Park will also be temporarily opened this week ahead of the season.
"I encourage everyone to to take advantage of free and early admission to our world class beaches, pools and other State Park sites to beat the heat as we expect record temperatures across the state," she said.
