Maine authorities blame armed standoff on public defender shortage
Maine authorities are saying that an armed standoff is partially due to a public defender shortage in the state. This comes as a man who previously served 15 years for stabbing his partner was let out on bail for not being appointed a public defender. Three days later he went on a rampage leaving two houses on fire.
