Revived by new owners, Granville restaurant opens for business

Bernardo's 5 is officially opening on Wednesday, June 19 with the bar opening at 4 p.m. and the kitchen opening at 5 p.m. It's located in the former Pub at Bernardo's space in Granville.

GRANVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Bernardo's 5 is officially opening on Wednesday, June 19 with the bar opening at 4 p.m. and the kitchen opening at 5 p.m. It's located in the former Pub at Bernardo's space in Granville.

Friends Bruce Rathbun, Dick Chapman, and Pete Kischak bought the restaurant in August 2023. Although they kept the Bernardo's name, the restaurant has turned from an Irish pub into an Italian and American restaurant.

The menu features spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo, chicken and eggplant parmesan, lasagna, manicotti, chicken piccata, haddock, scallops, steak, pork, hamburgers, and more. You can view the full menu on the Bernardo's 5 Facebook page.

Over the past several months, they renovated the kitchen, bar, and dining room. According to the Bernardo's 5 Facebook page, they are currently trying to get the card system to work, so it'll be cash or check only for now until they get it up and running.

Bernardo's 5 is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant is located at 131 Church Street in Granville.
