Columbus film center offers free movies during heat wave

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- With extreme heat forecasted this week, Columbus City Council and Gateway Film Center are offering a way for families to stay cool with a free movie.

The theater at 1550 N. High St. will offer free family movies on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m.

The movies being offered for free include the following:

• Tuesday (2024)
• The Bad Guys (2022)
• Jurassic Park (1993) 4K Restoration
• Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
• Matilda (1996)
• The Fall Guy (2024)
• Shrek (2001)
• The Grab (2024) -- Wednesday only
• Resistance: They Fought Back (2024) -- Wednesday only

Additionally, COSI will be free for the first 2,000 people starting Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is the only free offer with parking, the motion simulator, and the "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" excluded from Thursday's offer.
