I had premature fine lines but am super happy I tried 2 $10.90 beauty buys – I get why they call it ‘Botox in a bottle’

A SKINCARE addict has revealed how she banished the stubborn fine lines on her forehead without cosmetic injections.

She had initially thought the premature signs of aging on her face were caused by dehydration.

She shared photos of her forehead before and after using budget-friendly buys on Reddit’s Skincare Addiction forum.

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH

The beauty fan asked Reddit users to share their opinions of her improved appearance.

“What do you guys think?” she said, writing under the handle Mayorsteph.

“Since I’m only 24, I didn’t want to start getting Botox yet, but these lines have been bothering me for the last year.

“I thought they were dehydration lines but no matter how much moisturizer I used or water I drank, they wouldn’t go away.

“It was only when I added Argireline and Matrixyl from the Ordinary into my routine that I noticed they started to go away!”

The Ordinary’s Matrixyl* 10% + HA costs $10.90 and Argireline Solution 10% Serum for Facial Wrinkles costs $9.69 at Sephora.

Delighted customers have given both anti-aging products over 100,000 likes each.

Matrixyl and Argireline fall under the umbrella of synthetic peptides.

The Redditor said she uses Argireline twice daily but only uses Matrixyl at night.

Her forehead lines were visibly diminished in the photos showing her skin after consistently using the products.

“Obviously argireline isn’t as effective as Botox but it might do the trick for you if your fine lines are premature like mine,” she said.

“I’m super happy I gave it a shot before I did Botox. I get it why they call it Botox in a bottle now [laughing].”

COSMETICS CRAZE

Over 1,400 people up-voted her post and many commented that they were eager to try the products themselves.

“I purchased these products immediately! Thank you for posting, I had no idea either of these things existed,” one person said.

“I’m almost 30, have been battling lines since my early 20s, Botox and all of its variants do not work for me, Tret [tretinoin] did absolutely nothing after years of use.

“Retinol helps with texture and dullness but doesn’t improve my lines [crying] can’t wait to see what these products do for me!”

“I’m so confused, I thought the only options were Botox or retinol but I can’t deny the proof in the pictures!” another said.

“Shall be doing some research on Argireline and Matrixyl today thank you!”

  • Keep your skin hydrated internally by drinking water and externally with moisturizer.
  • Always use sunscreen, even if you’re not in direct sunlight.
  • Use Vitamin C to brighten the skin and don’t forget to apply to your neck.

“Consider me influenced!! I’m 22, starting to see forehead lines, and went out to buy some right after I saw this,” a third chimed in.

According to Medical News Today, peptides are short strings of amino acids that may be able to slow the aging process and reduce inflammation.

They are naturally present in protein-rich foods such as eggs, meat, fish, and milk.

It is recommended to speak to a doctor before taking peptide supplements or using topical products.
