THE rekindled romance between Joey Essex and Grace Jackson has created some of the steamiest telly in the history of Love Island.
Model Grace shocked her ex-boyfriend when she strutted into the villa as a bombshell last week and the pair have been inseparable ever since , smooching and canoodling at every opportunity.
But now it seems some tension has crept into a heady cocktail of emotions, on the ITV show, as Grace can be seen confronting Joey about his cowardly handling of the Samantha Kenny debacle.
The TOWIE player abandoned his developing romance with Samantha, the moment Grace arrived on the scene, which has left Sam devastated.
Last night the Sam, a make up artist, was dramatically axed from the show, having been left the last remaining singleton.
But now Grace has confronted Joey over his handling of the affair in a heated exchange.
She said: “Why did you walk off.”
To which Joey replied: “Where else am I meant to go Grace.”
Grace then shot back: “You don’t need to like dramatically walk off, you can be there and support.”
Joey then said: “Grace I’ve tried.”
And Grace replied:” I don’t necessarily want to be there.”
On Monday night’s show, they opted to spend the night in the Hideaway and openly kissed in front of the other islanders.
But while they seem loved up now, fans have spotted a major issue in their relationship fans immediately spotted.
“If Joey and Grace had so much chemistry and unfinished business why didn’t they sort it out pre Love Island,” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“Exactly,” said another. “If she liked him that much why didn’t she respond to those texts he sent 2 months ago?”
When Grace entered the villa alongside Wil Anderson and Tiffany Leighton, she wasted no time in admitting to the others that she and Joey had history.
Grace told the others of their fling: “So, we met last year in Ibiza and it’s actually funny because he’s not my type at all.
“We had a bit of a holiday romance. It carried on when we were back home.
“It was quite intense. We were seeing each other for a few months. It kind of ended a little bit frosty to be honest and we’ve not really spoken since.”
But by the end of that evening, they’d already stolen a kiss in a game with the other islanders.
Samantha, who has been coupled up with Joey for the past two weeks, has been left devastated, and last night was seen breaking down in tears multiple times.
After Grace and Joey returned from the Saucy Sleepover at Casa Amor, it became obvious that they were back on.
Joey initially delayed taking Sam to one side for a chat upon his return which made her feel increasingly upset.
When he eventually did pluck up the courage to have the heart to heart, it didn’t go smoothly.
She told him: “Well yeah, I feel embarrassed if I’m being completely honest… I just feel like I was a bit of a placeholder until someone else come in.”
When Joey and Grace later shared plans to sleep in the Hideaway together, tearful Samantha told the girls she may as well leave the villa completely.
She added she felt “embarrassed” by what went down, but fans are calling for Joey to be axed over his behaviour.
