Religion roundup: Vespers, story sharing, men’s breakfast, and more

Palos Park

The Wayside Chapel at The Center: 12700 Southwest Highway: Vespers at 12:30 p.m. Sundays in the chapel and at 8:30 p.m. Sundays in the lodge parlor. The nondenominational services will feature music, meditation and prayer. Time for fellowship and light refreshments in the great hall of the lodge follows the 12:30 p.m. service. Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road: Draw the Circle Wide after worship services June 30 and July 14 and 28. The new Sunday series led by Pastor Dawnn and Pastor Julie explores stories of life transitions, gratitude and joy, and overcoming challenges and resilience. St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Parish, 10621 Kedvale Ave.: Seekers in Sneakers Discover Jesus Vacation Bible School from 8:30 a.m. to non July 15 to 19. It’s open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Storytelling, drawing and painting, Bible stories and outdoor activities and games will be featured. Sign up by July 5. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7800 W. McCarthy Road: Scuba, Diving Into Friendship With God Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 8 to 12. It’s open to children who turn 3 by July 7 and are toilet-trained through children who have finished fifth grade. The $10 fee per child includes a T-shirt. It’s open to students entering first through sixth grades. Fee by July 1 is $25 for one child, $40 for two children and $55 for three or more.
