“I think I was just so excited to get to the end of this journey and be able to kind of tell my story of time and place with that meal. It was kind of like a dream to get to that point,” says “Top Chef” contestant Dan Jacobs about advancing to the season finale of the cooking competition, which airs tonight, June 19, at 9:00pm on Bravo. We talked to Jacobs and his fellow finalists Danny Garcia and Savannah Miller on the eve of the finale. Listen to our podcast interview above.

Jacobs may not have been nervous about the final challenge, but Miller “was anxious for the both of us. I think I had a lot of mixed emotions — just that last cook right before the finale, it was so close.” She was in the bottom two for the penultimate challenge in “Set Sail,” but the judges chose to send Miller through to the finale. “I think the biggest feeling I had was just overwhelming gratitude to be able to have the chance to do it. Because it was so close for me in that last cook. So I was just really excited, but definitely the nerves hit suddenly as well.”

For Garcia, “I don’t think it was anxious as much as it was just kind of excitement to see the process through, to be able to see the process to the end. Obviously you come in with the mindset to make it to the finale. And so to be able to actually make it to the finale was definitely a joyous, fun, exciting moment.” Of course, the most joyous moment of all would be to actually win the grand prize. Who are you expecting to be named Top Chef at the end of the night?
