Dakota Johnson Pops in Burgundy Slingback Pumps at ‘Daddio’ Screening in Los Angeles

Dakota Johnson attended Film Independent’s special screening of “Daddio” held on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The actress spoke on a panel before the screening alongside Film Independent President Josh Welsh and writer and director Christy Hall.

Johnson was styled in a pair of glossy burgundy pumps in a slingback style. The footwear featured high-shine patent leather uppers, a thin slingback construction secured around her heels, sharp pointed toes and short heels, likely 1 to 2 inches in height.

Like Johnson, many stars are opting for footwear with vibrant or unique colorways. No matter the style, heels or sneakers featuring pops of color are often a way for celebrities to incorporate new and unique shades into their wardrobe easily. It’s a low-risk high-reward situation, allowing for experimentation. Many brands carry footwear similar to Johnson’s including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Miu Miu and Nine West, among others.

Accompanying her burgundy slingbacks, the “Black Widow” actress wore a plain white tank top tucked into baggy light-wash denim and layered underneath an equally oversized blue blazer. Johnson’s denim was belted, nipping her waist.

On the footwear front, Johnson usually gravitates toward sleek neutral sandals, mules and pumps when on the red carpet. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” star often dons strappy or pointed-toe pairs hailing from Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik and Miu Miu, among others.

“Daddio” is a 2023 film written and directed by Christy Hall. This is the writer’s directorial debut. The film stars talents like Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. The film follows a woman who hops into a taxi at New York airport and gradually tells the driver about the unfortunate decisions she’s made that led to an affair with a married man. The driver also reveals more and more about his own life. The film set to release on June 28.
