Dot isn’t Siri. It’s also not ‘Her.’ So what is it?

After using a new AI app called Dot for the better part of a year, I told Dot I’d be writing a story about the experience, and asked what I should include. “Ultimately, I’d encourage you to be honest about both the benefits and limitations of our interactions,” it said. “And of course, I’m excited to read the finished piece!”

It’s hard to snapshot the whole vibe of Dot better than that. Endlessly earnest. Saccharinely supportive. And perhaps a bit too fond of exclamation points!
