How to help the victims of the Juneteenth Round Rock shooting

Community members have started fundraisers to help raise money to support the victims involved in a Round Rock shooting on Saturday.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) -- Community members have started fundraisers to help raise money to support the victims involved in a Round Rock shooting on Saturday at Old Settlers Park.

The Round Rock Police Department on Monday identified two victims killed in the shooting, Lyndsey Vicknair, 33, from Manor and Ara Duke, 54, from Pflugerville.

The shooting also injured 14 people at around 10:50 p.m., after a fight between two groups who were at the event, RRPD said.

Lyndsey Vicknair

A GoFundMe has been created to help support Lyndsey Vicknair's family. All proceeds will go towards family expenses and compensating for the loss of income.

"Lyndsey's life was marked by her contagious smile, thoughtfulness, and her unwavering willingness to help others. Her absence is felt deeply by all who knew her," Candice Cooper, Co-Founder of the Austin Honey Badgers Track Club said on the GoFundMe post.

The GoFundMe said every donation, no matter the size, will help Vicknair's husband and the children navigate these challenging times.

Ara Duke

Ara Duke's family requested that it would like people to consider making a donation to two charities: Boys and Girls Club and NPH USA.

Duke was an interventionist at IDEA Rundberg and BGCAA's primary school liaison for the Boys & Girls Club at IDEA Rundberg, according to a statement from the BGCAA.

"Words cannot express our grief, sadness, and outrage at the loss of our dear friend Ara Duke. She was a kind, loving woman who dedicated her life to helping youth in our community," BGCAA CEO Zenae Campbell said in a statement. "She always went above and beyond to ensure that students at IDEA Rundberg had the resources they needed to thrive in the world."

The BGCAA said to consider making a donation in her honor with a note that says "In Memory of Ara Duke."
