Millions of Nintendo Switch fans can enjoy a free update for one of its popular games

THE gaming industry changed forever back in 2006 when Nintendo released the Wii.

Home gaming consoles changed from being viewed as something solely for young people and became known as fun for the whole family.

The reason for this shift was Wii Sports. A game that was easy to pick up and play and encouraged people to get moving.

A new era of using video games to exercise had begun, and Nintendo didn’t stop with the Wii.

One of the more recent fitness games to hit the market is Nintendo Switch Sports, which launched in April 2022.

It immediately became a hit, especially because the Switch is one of Nintendo’s best-selling consoles ever.

Over 13million players have a copy of Nintendo Switch Sports, and it will soon become even better.

During the June Nintendo Direct, it was announced that there would soon be a free update to Nintendo Switch Sports.

The sports simulation game originally launched with badminton, bowling, chambara, football, volleyball, and tennis.

Golf was added in a free update after the release, and soon one more game will become available.

Basketball is being added to Nintendo Switch Sports in mid-2024, bringing with it a new way to play.

Players will have to dribble, pass, and shoot in order to score hoops in 2v2 matches.

Like all Switch Sports games, basketball will use the motion controls on the Joy-Con and can be played locally or online.

You’ll also be able to play solo by taking part in three-point challenges to score as many baskets within the time limit.

There is another multiplayer basketball mode where four players shoot at the same time to see who can score five baskets first.
