Father and son arrested in connection to South Buffalo shooting, charged with attempted murder

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A father and son have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection to a South Buffalo shooting that occurred this past weekend, the Buffalo Police Department announced Thursday.

Around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, South district officers responded to a shots fired call at South Park and W. Woodside avenues. Buffalo police said the victim, a 31-year-old Buffalo man, had already been taken to Mercy Hospital by private vehicle by the time officers arrived at the apparent scene of the shooting.

49-year-old Kwanza Battle and his 25-year-old son Kwanza Battle II were identified, apprehended and arrested Wednesday, according to police.

The pair were charged with second degree attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and first degree reckless endangerment.
