New business opens in empty Latham warehouse

A new business opened on Thursday inside a Latham warehouse that has been empty for eight years.

LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new business opened on Thursday inside a Latham warehouse that has been empty for eight years. A ribbon cutting was held for Launchbox Flexible Warehouse Suites.

The building includes meeting rooms, a loading dock, and other amenities and is available any time of the day or night. Officials hope it will help keep more businesses in the Capital Region.

"Launchbox provides capacity for as many as 88 locally-based businesses across industry sectors that are growth constrained because they can't find an appropriate or cost-effective workplace," Jeff Mirel with the Rosenblum Companies said.

Officials said it could help bring businesses from other states and countries into the area.
