Mrs. Doubtfire

Mrs. Doubtfire, a musical adaptation of the beloved movie, is currently playing at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre through June 30. The musical comedy stars Rob McClure, who originated the role on Broadway and earned a Tony nomination for his incredible performance. It’s laugh-out-loud funny from start to finish!

A Strange Loop

A Strange Loop won every “Best Musical” award on Broadway, including at the Tonys, and it even was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. The musical is currently running at the Ahmanson Theatre through June 30. Hell-bent on breaking free of his own self-perception, Usher, a young, gay, Black writer who hates his day job, writes a musical about a young, gay, Black writer who’s writing a musical about a young, gay, Black writer…a strange loop. Usher grapples with desires, identity, and instincts he both loves and loathes, all brought to life on stage by a hilarious, straight-talking ensemble.

Reefer Madness

Kristen Bell and Christian Campbell, the stars of the off-Broadway production and 2005 movie version of Reefer Madness, are among the producers who just brought the show back to the stage in this inventive new production. Your experience begins in the Victory Garden, where guests can enjoy dinner before the show. You then move into the Reefer Den for 90 minutes of fun before being led to an after party to close out the night!

Jelly’s Last Jam

If you want to see a star in the making, head to the Pasadena Playhouse to see Jelly’s Last Jam before it closes on June 23. Jasmine Amy Rogers is starring in the revival of the classic musical before she heads to Broadway next year to star in the Betty Boop musical, BOOP!
