Rashid shows his magic once again in terrific spell against India

Barbados: After losing Rohit Sharma early in the innings, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant steadied India’s ship through their decent partnership. It looked as if a score of over 200 was on the cards, however, that is when Rashid Khan decided to step up.

He first took Rishabh Pant’s wicket for 20 runs in the seventh over. Pant was looking in great touch and had just smashed 3 fours in a row against Mohammad Nabi in the over before. He went for a reverse sweep against Rashid but missed the ball completely and was caught leg-before-wicket.

Rashid got the big wicket of Kohli for 24 runs in his next over to put India under pressure at 62/3. This was the third time that Kohli was dismissed by Rashid in T20Is. Afghanistan’s captain again showed why experience matters a lot in these big matches.

His final scalp came in the form of Shivam Dube who was dismissed for only 10 runs. It was another leg-before-wicket as India lost their fourth wicket out of which three were taken by Rashid. India managed to finish at a good score of 181/8 in their 20 overs thanks to good knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, but they could have easily gone past 200 if it wasn’t for Rashid’s brilliant spell of 3/26 in his quota of 4 overs.
