‘Yellowstone’ to finally premiere second half of Season 5 in November, releases teaser trailer [WATCH]

After a lengthy delay, the second half of the fifth and final season of the Paramount Network modern-day western saga “Yellowstone” will premiere on Sunday November 10 at 8 p.m., the network announced today. The series returned to production in May and is currently filming in Montana. The show chronicles the Dutton family, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – a expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park. It’s co-created by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Taylor SheridanWatch the new teaser trailer above.

As previously reported, the final episodes of the show won’t feature its Academy Award-winning star Kevin Costner. The actor who played patriarch John Dutton for five seasons told People magazine this week that he had kept the show a priority for more than a year while awaiting the next season’s scripts but that ultimately “the scripts weren’t there.”

While promoting his new western film series “Horizon: An American Saga,” Costner added to the magazine, “I loved the show. When it was first pitched to me by Taylor, it was one season and (like) a long movie, which (is) speaking my language…but ultimately what happened was the studio didn’t want that…I said, ‘I’ll do it for three seasons,’ and I ended up doing it for five.” In fact, Costner said, he was hoping to continue with “Yellowstone” until the end even as the show took a lengthy hiatus but there was no timeline or new material coming through the pipeline. “There was a moment where that show for me stopped for 14 months…That’s the fact. I could have done a lot of things in that time, but I wasn’t aware that that (hold-up) was going to happen.”

Costner continued, “I’ve always felt that…It might be an interesting moment to come back and finish the mythology of this modern-day family. And if that happens, I would step into it if I agreed with how it was being done. In the very end, I couldn’t do any more for it than I had already done.”
