DO GOOD TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS – CLERIC CHARGES MUSLIM FAITHFUL 


… As Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque Celebrates Eid-El-Kabir

The Lead Imam of the Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque (LSCCM), Alausa, Sheikh AbdulHakeem AbdulGafar has called on Muslim faithful all around the world to do good to their neighbours while eschewing evil in all their daily transactions.


The Cleric made the call in his sermon at the LSCCM Praying Ground during the prayer session held to herald the celebration of the Eid-El-Kabir festival, imploring the congregation to embrace piety and steadfastness while having absolute trust in Allah.


Explaining the circumstances of Prophet Ibrahim which brought about the slaughtering of a ram during the festival, AbdulGafar outlined the necessary process that must be followed in the distribution of their slaughtered rams, stressing that it must be divided into three parts. “A part for their family, second to their neighbours and the last part for those who do not slaughter not”, he stated. 

The Imam emphasised that the Almighty Allah does not need the blood of slaughtered animals nor the flesh but rewards the intention behind it. He averred that Muslims must do good to their neighbours and communities, and distance themselves from evil deeds that can cause problems amongst the citizenry. “Muslims should be problem solvers in their Communities. By doing so, the Community, the State and the Nation at large would be a better place to live”, he added.


In his remarks, the Chairman, Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque,  Engineer AbdulAfis Toriola appealed to Muslims and Non-Muslims to be patient with the government of the day, so that Nigerians can benefit from the dividends of democracy.


Toriola called on the leaders and the led to borrow a leaf from Prophet Ibrahim’s character to have a better nation. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State  Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to succeed in governing the country and Lagos State respectively. Also, he enjoined Muslims and non-muslims alike to support the government at all levels in its bid for a better Nigeria.
