KING Charles felt angry that he couldn’t ride a horse at Trooping the Colour this year, a royal expert said.
The Monarch, 75, impressed royal fans as he arrived at his official birthday celebration sitting alongside Queen Camilla in a horse-drawn carriage.
However, a royal expert understood how His Majesty was “frustrated” at being instructed not to ride his horse – as he did last year.
It came after the Palace confirmed the King’s schedule is being modified to suit his treatment needs on the advice of doctors.

Hello Magazine’s Royal Editor, Emily Nash, spoke with The Sun’s Royal Editor on the Royal Exclusive Show.
She told Matt Wilkinson: “We know enough about the King’s approach to his to his working life to understand that he would have been really frustrated by being told he can’t do something.
“You only have to look at the way he’s been operating in the last few weeks, he’s had a very very busy schedule, even though they are making adjustments to take into account his cancer treatment.
“But he did remarkably well, and back at the Palace taking that royal salute for a very long time in the absolutely biblical weather.
“There was a sense towards the end of the balcony moment where it looked as though the Queen was hurrying him back inside as if to say ‘come on now it’s time to go and have a rest’.”
Camilla previously urged her husband to “slow down” but joked “he is doing fine except he won’t slow down and won’t do what he’s told”.
This was evident the day after Trooping the Colour when Charles went out again to watch the polo.
“This isn’t someone who’s going to just be sitting on the sofa putting his feet up,” added the Royal Editor.
It follows a packed summer calendar for the King, who has already wowed royal fans with his gracious appearances at Buckingham Palace Garden Parties and Royal Ascot.
This week His Majesty took to the stage at the prestigious Berkshire event to congratulate Royal Ascot winners.
He led a carriage procession with Queen Camilla and afterwards chatted with jockeys as he presented a number of awards.
Earlier this month Charles led D-Day commemorations – despite being in hospital for cancer treatment less than 24 hours earlier.
Meanwhile, on the cards later this month is a State visit from the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
And, a two or three week tour of Australia could be penciled in for the busy King in October.

It comes after royal fans were ecstatic to watch Princess Kate step out side by side with King Charles on Buckingham Palace’s balcony at Trooping the Colour.
Her glamourous appearance marked the first since Christmas last year, following her abdominal surgery and cancer diagnosis.

KING Charles has braved the pouring rain to salute troops at his first Trooping Colour since his cancer diagnosis.
The monarch looked regal as he and Queen Camilla headed to his official birthday ceremony.
Meanwhile, Princess Kate beamed this morning as she made her first public appearance in months with Prince William and their kids.
The Princess had a smile ear-to-ear as she waved to crowds gathered at the Mall to catch a glimpse of her.
Kate, 42, looked stunning dressed in white as she arrived at Trooping the Colour.
The family made their way along the Mall in The Glass Coach, closely following behind the King and Queen Camilla.
Prince William, who looked dapper in his red Irish Guards uniform, proudly donning medals on his chest, beamed at crowds, too.
It is the first time the Princess has been seen at a Royal event since Christmas Day.
She stood tall beside her father-in-law and the pair waved to thousands of well-wishers.
The day had been plagued by rain but downpours couldn’t dampen Kate’s shine as she beamed alongside Prince William and their kids.
Fans watched on in awe as the mum-of-three joked and laughed with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.
Sweet Princes George and Louis waved with two hands to crowds with their sister at their side.
They all watched more than 30 aircraft take to the skies as part of the celebrations – with the RAF Red Arrows making a touching tribute to a fallen officer.
What is Trooping the Colour?
Trooping the Colour or ‘The King’s Birthday Parade’ is a military ceremony which dates back to the early eighteenth century or earlier, when the colours (flags) of the battalion were carried (or ‘trooped’) down the ranks so that they could be seen and recognised by the soldiers.
Since 1748, this parade has also marked the Sovereign’s official birthday.
The honour to Troop their Colour rotates through the five regiments of Foot Guards, and this year it lies with Number 9 Company Irish Guards.
The Irish Guards were raised by Queen Victoria in 1900 and have provided almost 125 years of service to the nation.
This year marks the second Trooping the Colour of His Majesty’s reign.
The King attended his first Trooping the Colour in 1951, aged three, riding in a carriage with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and aunt, Princess Margaret. The King first rode in the parade as Colonel of the Welsh Guards in 1975.
