Death in Paradise star reveals new role after quitting BBC show after nine years

DEATH In Paradise star Josephine Jobert has landed a brand new leading role since leaving the BBC series.

The actress, who played DS Florence Cassell for nine years, left Death In Paradise in 2022, after years of being the trusty right hand lady of the main detectives.

She returned briefly in 2024 as Ralf Little exited the show, chasing after Florence after years of a will they/won’t they storyline.

Ralf’s naturally anxious character, DI Neville Parker, bravely declared his feelings for her, to the delight of fans who had been waiting for the moment for years.

Reciprocating his feelings, Neville and Florence went off into the sunset together, with both Josephine and Ralf confirming it would be their last appearance on the long-running series.

Now Josephine is heading to different shores for her new role – although it won’t be too far from her Death in Paradise days as she takes on a new detective character.

Saint-Pierre, which will air on Canadian network CBC, will see Josephine portray Deputy Police Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault.

She will be partnered up with Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick, played by Allan Hawkso.

Fitz is sent to work in the French territory island after getting in too deep investigating the work of a dodgy politician’s activity.

According to the network, Fitz’s arrival upends Parisian transplant Arch’s life, who is in Saint-Pierre for her own reasons yet to be revealed.

Thrown together on cases, the two chalk-and-cheese detectives have to learn how to work together to solve the island’s dark criminal activity.

The series is set to air on CBC in 2025, with a UK date yet to be released.

The first season will be comprised of 10 hour-long episodes.

Saint-Pierre is just one of Josephine’s huge new projects after leaving Death In Paradise.

She has also been announced as part of the cast of new drama, Concordia.

The drama takes place in a fictional city where AI “ensures a free and fair society”.

An official logline for the series reads: “For its 20th anniversary, the AI driven town of Concordia is due to expand to Germany.

“This plan is threatened when Oliver Miller, an analyst in Concordia is killed.”

In the plot, as the experiment becomes more popular, multiple cities worldwide plan to replicate the system.

However, a secret occurs which threatens to destroy the whole system, just as the project is set to expand into Germany.
