PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- New information from the recent shooting involving Vancouver police officers shows that the victim's weapon was a cap gun, authorities said.
According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, the gun found at the scene was a modified cap gun with the orange tip removed.
The gun, apparently a Chinese-manufactured Super Cap Gun, also broke during the incident with the grips coming off, officials said.

Body cam footage that was released last week showed the suspect, Vadim Sashchenko, 43, point what appeared to be a gun at the patrol car. During the shooting the gun was thrown to the ground, authorities said.
The incident is still under investigation.
