ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police are continuing to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on June 20 near the I-787 and I-90 interchange in Albany. The motorcycle's operator, identified as Michael Furch, 34, of Guilderland, died at the scene.

On Thursday around 5:08 p.m., troopers responded to the Exit 5 off-ramp following the report of a single-vehicle crash. The investigation determined that Furch was exiting I-787 when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a concrete barrier.

The crash caused Furch to eject from his motorcycle and land on the shoulder of I-787 below the ramp. Multiple lane closures were in place in the area on Thursday night while the scene was assessed. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
