Crowley woman arrested, charged with vehicular homicide in April 26 crash

Rashonda Wentworth, 28, of Crowley, was arrested Thursday in connection with the crash at the corner of Jacobs Avenue and 6th Street, authorities said.

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) -- A woman is charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a crash in Crowley on April 26, according to Crowley Police Chief Troy Hebert.

Rashonda Wentworth, 28, of Crowley, was arrested Thursday in connection with the crash at the corner of Jacobs Avenue and 6th Street, authorities said.

The crash took the life of 20-year-old A’layziah Thorne.

A Ford Expedition driven by Wentworth hit Thorne's white sedan on the driver's side "in a t-bone manner" after Thorne failed to stop at a stop sign, Hebert said.

Wentworth was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail Thursday on a charge of vehicular homicide, with bail set at $75,000.
