First team knocked OUT of Euro 2024 in huge ‘plot twist’ after France vs Netherlands clash
POLAND are the first team to be knocked out of Euro 2024.
The country’s fate was sealed following a 0-0 draw between Netherlands and France.
Michal Probierz’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat to Austria earlier in the day.
Krzysztof Piatek gave Poland a glimmer of hope after cancelling out Gernot Trauner’s opening goal.
But Christoph Baumgartner and Marko Arnautovic both struck in the second half to seal the win for Das Team.
Poland needed Netherlands to beat France to remain in the tournament.
However, Oranje were held to a goalless draw.
Xavi Simons thought he had won it for Netherlands in the 69th minute, but his goal was chalked off after Denzel Dumfries was deemed to be in an offside position.
