Eva Longoria Revealed Her Favorite Thing To Do with Son Santiago & It Sounds Like a Dream

Playing board games and splashing around a pool are fun ways to bond with your kids, but Eva Longoria’s family time looks a little different. The Desperate Housewives alum just shared what her favorite thing to do with her 6-year-old son Santiago, who she shares with husband José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón, and it couldn’t be more exciting.

In an interview on The TODAY Show, host Hoda Kotb asked how Santiago “is evolving and changing” after turning six on Wednesday.

“Oh my God, you know what, I love is he’s always with me when I’m working,” the Land of Women star responded. “If we’re in Spain … we just all go to Spain. If we’re in Rome, we’re all in Rome. And he’s very cultured.”

Sounds amazing, right? And Santiago is learning all about the places he gets to visit (and more specifically, the food in those places). Longoria does an impression of her son: “Oh mom, can we have macarons if you go to Paris?” “We can eat jamón when we’re in Spain.” I can barely get my 6-year-old to eat a hot dog, so yeah, I’m thoroughly impressed.

Longoria added, “I just love how global he’s growing up, and understands and appreciates other cultures and other languages.”

The actress and director shared a sweet montage video of her son on his birthday this week. “No matter how fast time flies, you’ll always be my baby!” she wrote on Instagram. “Happy 6th birthday to my sweet Santi ???? love you soooo much!!”

In the heartwarming clip, Longoria dances with her son, walks hand-in-hand with him, and laughs with him over the years. Their relationship is so sweet!

But while they have a great time together, Santiago has a bit of a sassy side too. In an interview with E! News in Jan. 2024, she revealed that producers asked her if they could use her son in her upcoming Disney+ film, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

“They go, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we just use your son?’” Longoria said. “I’m like, ‘Absolutely not.’” She joked, “He is such a diva. He’s not cooperative. Doesn’t take notes. Talks back.”

He may be more cultured, but in some ways, Santiago is also just like every other 6-year-old we know!
