“I’m not happy”: Vikram Rathour on Virat Kohli’s bad form in T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli hasn’t been in a good form throughout this T20 World Cup and has struggled a lot to score runs. The batsman who scored 741 runs and was awarded with the Orange Cap in the IPL 2024 season, failed to register a score in double digits in all of India’s group stage games.

It was expected that Kohli would regain his great form when India started playing matches in the Caribbean after playing at the drop-in pitches of New York. However, in India’s first match in the Super 8, Kohli struggled again and managed to only make 24 runs in as many balls before being dismissed by Rashid Khan

Here’s what India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour had to say on Kohli’s contribution in India’s T20 World Cup campaign so far.

“I’m not happy. I would love it if he gets going and scores more runs. But yeah, it is good when you are challenged at times. You know, the guys who are not getting too much of batting in India sometimes, they are the ones who put up scores today and our middle-order came to play. So, it was good to see.”

India will play their second match of Super 8 against Bangladesh at Antigua on Saturday and Kohli will be looking to finally get back into good form as he is a key player for the Indian team.
