Traitors star Charlotte Chilton reveals rows with baby’s famous dad Conor Maynard left her stressed and angry
THE Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has revealed how she felt betrayed and upset after a series of rows with Conor Maynard.
The 32-year-old fell out with the singer, 31, after telling him she was pregnant with their child following a night out.
Charlotte was introduced to TikToker Conor by The Traitors winner Harry Clark following a champagne-fuelled wrap party for the second series of Claudia Winkleman’s BBC murder mystery game.
But things turned sour between them as soon as she realised she was expecting – and Charlotte was terrified the stress would lead her miscarry again.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun On Sunday, she explained: “We kept in touch, confided in each other and planned to meet up. But after I told him I was pregnant that apparently decent man changed.
“He turned on me, I felt pressured into keeping his identity as the father a secret.
“He told me, ‘I’m not ready to be a dad. It’s nothing against you, Charlotte, but even if we’d been together three years, I would be the exact same. I do not want to have a child. That’s why I haven’t got a dog’.
“It was so stressful that doctors twice put me on bed rest. I thought I was going to miscarry.”
Charlotte had previously had seven agonising miscarriages and failed IVF during her marriage to estranged wife Laura.
But when Charlotte told him how scared she was of another miscarriage – they ended up arguing.
And things went from bad to worse between them.
She said: “A month later I went for a scan so sent him a picture saying the baby was healthy. I think I said, ‘It’s only a blob… but the cutest blob I’ve ever seen’. He eventually came back with, ‘It is a lot to take in’.
“I felt abandoned and alone. I had a breakdown. I poured myself a large glass of wine and thought, ‘That’s it, I’m getting wrecked. I don’t care. I can’t do this. I can’t lose another baby’.
“And I messaged him, blasting him saying how I didn’t want my baby to be hated by its own father.
“Conor rang the next day and berated me for being emotional.”
During their final conversation, Charlotte assured Conor she wanted nothing from him and that he had nothing to lose.
She said: “He didn’t want me to tell anyone because he wasn’t ready to be a dad. It was immature and selfish. He was screwing with my head, my emotions.”
Eventually, he messaged her saying she should only contact him if news of the baby was made public.
She said: “He told me, ‘This is your miracle baby. It is not mine. He ended the text, ‘Hope you’re all good, Charlotte x’.”
