Commenting on a Reddit post, user KPerkins1982 revealed his favorite food to bring to parties.

“Lately, I’ve been making a fruit tray with a dip,” the social media user explained.

He shared the four ingredients he uses to create the homemade fruit dip.

“[It’s] made out of equal parts mascarpone and heavy cream whipped to soft peaks with a little vanilla and powdered sugar to taste,” he said.

The poster said he usually brings an arrangement of fruit to accompany the dip.

He said the platter is almost always the star of the show at any cookout he attends.

“It is one of those things where people are at a party and somebody tries it and exclaims, ‘OMG, you guys have to try this,'” he wrote.

As well as the flavorful taste, the Reddit user pointed out another element of the dip that he enjoys

“I find it fun because, while the dip is quite good, the crowd ends up experimenting on which fruit they like the best and ends up trying each one,” he explained.

The Redditor revealed his go-to fruit recommendations to accompany the dip.

“My personal favorite is a banana or a tart apple but other people have told me pineapple is theirs,” he said.

“I don’t think there is a right answer but the fun is in your side dish being a topic of conversation at the party and that always feels good.”

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the recipe in the comments section.

One reader suggested whipping the cream before adding the mascarpone.

“Add a little brown sugar and it will take it to the next level,” wrote another person.
