DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The man who was hit by a rollercoaster at Kings Island Wednesday night has been identified.

According to our partners at WLWT, the Mason Police Department identified the man as 38-year-old Arntanaro Nelson, from Wilmington, Ohio.

Nelson reportedly entered a restricted area around the Banshee rollercoaster to retrieve his keys. While in the fenced-in area, the man was struck by the rollercoaster.

At this time, the ride remains closed. Nelson remains hospitalized with critical injuries.
