Forgotten England football anthem sung by the cast of Hollyoaks branded ‘the worst of all time’ by fans
WHO can forget Hollyoaks’ football anthem that was released back in 2010.
Well, some fans are desperate to erase it from their memory after branding it the “worst of all time”.
Fast forward 14 years on and a Darren Osborne fan account took to shared a clip of the footie-themed song to mark the start of UEFA Euros 2024.
They wrote: “What better way to celebrate the Euros starting than watching the worst England song of all time.”
The Channel 4 soap released the charity single for the 2010 World Cup.
The video featured members of the celebrity football team including actor Nick Pickard, who plays longest-serving actor Tony Hutchinson and Ashley Taylor Dawson, who plays Darren.
It was titled Sing For England to help raise money for the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, which treats over 200,000 children and young people each year.
Nick previously spoke about the campaign and said: “All the lads in the team are passionate about football and we love playing regularly to raise money for charity.
“So it only seems natural to show our support for the England football team in South Africa by releasing ‘Sing For England’.”
