The Welsh park spans more than 175 acres and is home to three different types of deer, with around 200 deer in the park at any one time.

Fallow Deer are found at the park along with Red Deer, which are the largest kind of deer at the site.

The huge park is also home to White Red Deer, which are extremely rare with only a few sightings in the UK over the last few decades.

It will soon be easier to spot the rare animals, that’s if plans are approved to build 15 lodges at Great Wedlock Farm and Deer Park.

The park’s owners, Mr and Mrs Evans, have unveiled plans to build 15 holiday lodges.

According to the Western Telegraph, the holiday lodges will cost £2million to build.

A statement supporting the application read: “Over the last 48 years, my wife and I have developed Holiday Parks firstly in Pembrokeshire and then throughout the UK.

“We decided to return to Pembrokeshire where it all started for us in 1976, to develop the deer park and are now looking to develop the wheelchair accessible lodge development, to support our business and for the benefit of Pembrokeshire and its economy.”

They added: “Current build costs to complete the development are circa £2m which will add considerable income to local suppliers, contractors and the lodge manufacturer.”

The holiday lodges will be wheelchair accessible, with further details yet to be revealed.

Great Wedlock Farm and Deer Park first opened to the public last year, with entry tickets costing £5 for a full-paying adult, £4 for children and £3 for toddlers, with children under the age of two going free.

Visitors can also hire out safari buggies, with prices starting from £60 for a family of four.

An expert guide will navigate families through the 175-acre park via a special intercom system.

Buggies can be booked from the on-site shop, which opens at 10am sharp.

Deer Safari Tours run at set times, including 11am, 1pm and 3pm, with visitors asked to arrive 45minutes before their allotted slot.

Other activities include a VIP Guided Safari tour, where visitors are driven around the deer park in a people carrier.

Other attractions include the Cinema Barn, which has a huge cinema screen, an indoor play area and pedal tractors.

Great Wedlock Farm has been praised by visitors on TripAdvisor, with a 4.5/5 star rating from customer reviews.

One person wrote: “Myself, partner and toddler had a wonderful day at the deer park.”

Another person added: “I visited with family, it was good value and we all had a great time.”

Someone else wrote: “Amazing place, great for the family, with fantastic views. I highly recommend and the deer safari is a must.”

Great Wedlock Farm is a 75-minute drive from Swansea and it’s a 100-minute drive from Cardiff.

Other popular destinations include Tenby, a Victorian seaside town, and Caldey Island, which is just a short boat ride away from Tenby.

There’s also the Preseli Hills, which offer views as far as the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland – on a clear day.

From the Pembrokeshire Coast, Brit holidaymakers will also be able to spot whales and dolphins.

Meanwhile, the most beautiful national park in the UK has been revealed.
