Khloé Kardashian is celebrating her daughter True’s latest accomplishment, and she doesn’t want to hear one peep from any haters. (Which, fair!) She shared several new photos of her 6-year-old, who she shares with ex Tristan Thompson, and included one very important message to anyone who wants to criticize her.
The Good American founder took to Instagram today to post beautiful photos of True’s recent dance recital, which she performed alongside Kim Kardashian’s 6-year-old daughter Chicago, Rob Kardashian’s 7-year-old daughter Dream, and Kylie Jenner’s 6-year-old daughter Stormi. Khloé shared new snaps of her daughter and nieces dressed in their pink sparkly tutus and ballet slippers, with their hair up in buns. They were all also wearing recital makeup, complete with eyeliner and ruby red lips, which matched their second outfit of red-and-white baseball tutus.
Anyone who’s been in dance or theater knows the stage lights require a ton of makeup, but Khloé wanted to make extra sure that no one was going to judge her daughter for doing this totally normal thing.
“My girls had their dance recital yesterday!” The Kardashians star wrote on Instagram Sunday. “Year 3 done ????????♀️????????♀️ I can’t believe they already have done three years of dance. Life is moving quickly.” She explained that the girls did both ballet and hip-hop dance lessons this year and that she is “so so proud.” “They were absolutely perfect ????,” she added.
And then the message for any potential haters: “obviously none of our girls wear makeup like this regularly. This was for the recital only. They are beautiful just as they are.” Damn straight! Of course she knows her daughter and nieces are beautiful, but stage makeup is a completely normal thing and has nothing to do with thinking your child isn’t naturally beautiful. Good for her for sticking up for them!
Khloé continued her caption by sharing, “Yesterday was super special ???? memories for a lifetime.”
People were (surprisingly!) supportive in the comments. “It’s sad you even have to specify about the makeup, but I understand why. Gorgeous little dancers! ????????” one person wrote. Khloé responded, “it is but people are cray cray. So I had to explain.”
“obvi I would hope no one would do this normally to a 6 year old,” she added.
Another offered some pretty fabulous advice on teaching kids about makeup. “I read somewhere that when our kids ask us why we wear makeup we should say ‘to look fancy’, not ‘to look beautiful’, to help them understand they are beautiful in their own skin just as we are,” they wrote. “We just wear it to look fancy not to look beautiful. And I really love that.”
Khloé, who is also mom to son Tatum, 1, with Thompson, shared several photos of her daughter dressed in a pink dress with fuzzy sleeves and bunny ears on her birthday in April. The proud mom wrote a lengthy caption to celebrate her eldest child.
“True, when I tell you I CHERISH the time I have with you, I absolutely mean that! Every single moment and memory is etched in my heart,” she wrote in part. “I never thought I could love anything or anyone the way I love you. Every single minute I have with you I fall deeper in love. Thank you for saving me. You did so without even knowing it. You are my angel girl!”
