Elon Musk Confirms He Welcomed 12th Child, His 3rd with Shivon Zilis
Elon Musk welcomed a third child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and he just confirmed the news amid reports that they kept the baby’s identity a secret from the world.
The 52-year-old Tesla and Neuralink exec confirmed the news to Page Six, “As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false. All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret.’”

He then spoke of his concern for the population. He said, “Many countries are already well below replacement rate, and the trend is that almost all will be. This is simply a fact, not a ‘debunked theory.’ 2.1 kids is replacement rate, and obviously the world as a whole will soon drop below that point.”
You might be wondering what “replacement rate” is and what the “2.1″ figure actually means.
From the University of Pennsylvania: “The U.S. population’s total fertility rate is now approximately 1.7 births per female, which is below the replacement rate of 2.1 that is required for the U.S. population not to shrink.” The replacement rate means that women would have to birth 2.1 children in order to keep the population stable.
Musk has spoken about his concern over the lowering population in the past.
