The best Chicago tourist attraction is finally back.

In terms of Chicago tourist attractions, few things rival Anish Kapoor’s masterpiece “The Bean,” a.k.a. Cloud Gate in Millennium Park. The mirrored sculpture has been a popular fixture in downtown Chicago for nearly two decades, becoming as synonymous with the city as the Willis Tower, Wrigley Field, and Chicago-style hot dogs. But some necessary remodeling of Grainger Plaza — where the sculpture is hosted — kept The Bean closed for nearly a year.

Have no fear, prospective Chicago visitors. Your nightmare is over.

As of Sunday, the city of Chicago announced that Grainger Plaza renovations were over, and The Bean was finally open to the public again. Further landscaping will be done on the Plaza in the coming weeks, but The Bean will stay completely accessible to tourists and Chicagoans alike.
