Sperry Teases Latest Beams Plus Shoe Collab During Paris Fashion Week Men’s
Sperry and Japanese clothing brand Beams Plus came together at Paris Fashion Week to celebrate the extension of their ongoing partnership on Thursday at the city of light’s Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers.
For its latest tie-up, the duo takes on the footwear brand’s CVO deck sneaker for spring/summer 2025. With its classic cotton canvas upper and signature vulcanized rubber sole, the new Sperry x Beams Plus MIL CVO transforms the upper in a nylon fabrication. The shoe was shown in three new colorways – white, Beams Plus orange, and navy – and will retail for $85. At the Paris event, the shoes were showcased alongside a limited-edition apparel capsule collection for spring/summer 2025.
Along with the evening cocktail event, the shoes and clothing were shown to retailers at the Beams showroom in Paris this week and will be offered to American buyers at the Project Men’s trade show in New York in July. The style is set to debut at retailers next year.
This new collab builds off the duo’s 2023 tie-up that saw Sperry and Beams Plus first come together on the American shoe brand’s CVO deck shoe.
According to Sperry, the MIL CVO pays homage to the original CVO sneaker created by Paul Sperry in 1935. The MIL CVO features details that are authentic to the CVO style that was used by the US Navy in the 1940s including Sperry’s signature Wave Siping outsole and thick rubber foxing connecting the upper and outsole.
“With a focus on authenticity, Sperry and Beams Plus have recreated the classic canvas deck shoe for fashion purists who appreciate heritage and authenticity in the clothes they wear,” the brand said in a statement.
This is the latest collaboration for Sperry in recent months. In May, the footwear brand released two shoe collabs. The first one with menswear designer Todd Snyder saw an update to the brand’s signature Authentic Original boat shoe. Weeks later, boutique retailer Concepts reimaged the same signature silhouette from Sperry in five colorways.
These collaborations come several months after Sperry was acquired by brand management firm Authentic Brands Group in January. At the same time, the brand management firm inked a deal with the Aldo Group to serve as Sperry’s North American operating partner for wholesale, e-commerce and store operations, as well as the brand’s partner for footwear design, production and distribution globally.
